The Ascension of Christ
PART 5 – Concluding a week of Bible teaching on the “Person of Christ”, Paul McCauley preaches from Luke 24 on the wonderful subject of the Ascension of Christ. In a heart-felt and uplifting address, Paul McCauley establishes and explores the significance of the ascension of Christ. Firstly, he demonstrates how it is a significant doctrine, foreshadowed and typified in the Old Testament and taught in the New. He helpfully points out what the various expressions used concerning the ascension (such as received up or taken up) each carry a peculiar meaning regarding the manner in which Christ ascended. Finally, Paul looks at why Christ ascended, to sit in divine majesty, to engage in divine ministry, to reveal a hidden mystery and finally to extend God’s mercy.
